Hays County Courthouse, San Marcos, TX – Information from the countywide emergency information website www.HaysInformed.com can now be accessed on Facebook and Twitter in addition to the RSS feed already on the website.

HaysInformed.com is the site for official emergency information updates from Hays County, municipalities, law enforcement and response agencies. Road closures and public safety notices for major emergencies throughout Hays County are consolidated on one site, with the lead agency for each emergency able to post in real time.

Each authorized jurisdiction and agency in Hays County, including on-scene commanders, can post information from the scene, from an office or by the side of the road quickly and efficiently. The site also makes it easier for response agencies that do not have public information staff to post information.

The consolidated information is also a benefit for people traveling within Hays County from one community to another and for persons who are traveling through the county when an emergency situation is occurring. Instead of trying to visit many websites or phone various jurisdictions, the information is in one place and easy to review.

The new social media sites can be found at www.Facebook.com/HaysInformed and www.Twitter.com/HaysInformed (@HaysInformed). The sites were developed courtesy of the Kyle Life website as a public service for Hays County.
