Hays County and The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) in partnership with the Federal Highway Administration are considering modifications to the IH 35 and Posey Road Intersection. Changes may include removing the existing Posey Road Bridge and reconstructing IH 35 over Posey Road. The purpose of this proposed project is to enhance safety and mobility. The project began in late 2013 and the environmental study and design process are anticipated to continue through early 2015. Construction is anticipated to begin in early 2015 and would take 18 months to complete.
The County and TxDOT want to work very closely with the community on this project. Periodic updates will be sent via email, comments and questions are welcome at any time and public meetings will be held.
An open house meeting was held on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 where the project team shared project information and collected input on the project. All materials shared at the meeting are posted below.
