The Hays County Sheriff’s Office maintains records for calls for service, incarcerations, traffic accident investigations, and juvenile criminal involvement.  There are three records divisions:  Law Enforcement Records Division, Jail Records Division, and Juvenile Records Division.

Jail Records

The Jail Records Division maintains records on all persons incarcerated at the Hays County Law Enforcement Center.  These records include arrest reports and any other records pertaining to a subject incarcerated in the jail.  Certain records may require a Freedom of Information Act request form.  Others may require a subpoena.

Juvenile Records

Juvenile records are maintained through the Criminal Investigations Division.  The Juvenile Records Division maintains secure records on incidents involving juvenile offenders and submits all fingerprints and photos to the Texas Department of Public Safety. Certain records may require a Freedom of Information Act request form.  Others may require a subpoena.
