FSA ACCEPTING EMERGENCY LOAN APPLICATIONS

Bexar, Ector ,Hunt, Milam, Runnels, Williamson, Borden ,Falls ,Kaufman, Montague, Tarrant ,Wilson, Carson , Fannin , Kinney, Navarro, Terry, Winkler, Crane ,Gaines, Llano, Nueces Uvalde ,Wise, Dallas, Grayson ,Mason, Real ,Van Zandt, Yoakum, Dawson, Henderson, Matagorda Red River, Ward ,Zavala, and Wharton were also named as contiguous were also named as contiguous counties.   Generally, that means that farmers who have lost at least 30 percent of their production due to damages and losses caused by drought, excessive heat, high winds and wildfires January 1, 2011 and continuing  may be eligible for FSA loans, providing eligibility requirements are met.  Proceeds from crop insurance are taken into consideration when determining eligibility.

            FSA Farm Loan Manager, Raecene Randall, Farm Loan Manager, is urging farmers who are interested in receiving an emergency loan to submit their applications into FSA as soon as possible.  Randall said, “We hope farmers will get their applications in early rather than waiting until near the deadline, which is 02/24/2012. The longer they wait, the more chance there is for long delays.  If the applications come in early, we can avoid backlogs and speed up the process.”
