The Hays County Juvenile Probation Department

We are responsible for directing the personal and social adjustment of young people referred by the Court or Intake Section of the Juvenile Department. The Department ascertains the needs of each probationer and provides services designed to fit those needs and alleviate the causal problems.

Ultimately the Department is concerned with ensuring the orders and rules of the Court are followed by each probationer. Juveniles placed on probation are supervised in compliance with policies and standards established by the Texas Juvenile Probation Commission, the Juvenile Board and the Chief Juvenile Probation Officer.

The Hays County Juvenile Center

Our Juvenile Center is a 42,000 square foot pre- and post-adjudication secure correctional facility located at 2250 Clovis Barker Road, San Marcos, Texas. The facility is operated by the Hays County Juvenile Board.

We have been providing residential services at this location since April 2002 and placement services since October 1995. The residential services offered at the Hays County Juvenile Center include 34 pre-adjudication detention beds and 108 post-adjudication academy, substance abuse treatment and sex offender therapy beds.
