District Clerk

The District Clerk's Office, located in the Justice Center, provides several services for the residents of Hays County. Comprised of an elected District Clerk and dedicated staff, the Office is responsible for providing records of the Courts' proceedings, implementing Court decisions, and administratively supporting the respective Courts and Judges. Open 8-5 Monday through Friday, the Office welcomes you to contact them using the information listed below:

NOTICE REGARDING FAX FILING:  Our office is currently unable to receive any fax filings or copy requests by fax, however we are still receiving “filing” through electronic filing.  (Please refer to the Electronic Filing” link for further instructions).  We apologize for this inconvenience and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call our office.

Electronic Filing

The District Clerk's office has several payment options available including credit cards (see the "fax filing" and "records search" sections for instructions and forms.

 

NEW PAYMENT OPTION

In addition to MasterCard & VISA credit cards, this office has contracted with LegalEase, by Frost Bank, as another payment option for our customers. To make application for a LegalEase account and to get more information about LegalEase visit the Frost Bank web page at http://www.frostbank.com/firstpay. OR you may contact Frost Bank at 800-562-6732 and ask for Van Carter, Tom Frost III or simply say "LegalEase, please" for assistance. Fax your completed LegalEAse application to Frost Bank at 210-220-5440. Frost Bank will activate your access number(s) after your account has been opened and funded.

Once you have established an account with the bank, you may download the "Agency Filing & Payment Form" and simply provide your access number to the clerk to pay court costs or to pay for copies. The transaction amount will be deducted from your LegalEase account.
