To that end, we strive for excellence throughout our staff. We expect competence and professionalism and a commitment to the ends of securing justice without regard to status, race, gender or national origin.
The District Attorney’s Office represents the State in all felony, misdemeanor and juvenile offenses committed in Hays County. We provide services to merchants and business throughout Hays County with our Hot Check Division. Our Civil Division represents the Department of Family and Protective Services in civil suits affecting parental rights. Additionally the Civil Division provides legal assistance to County Departments, elected officials and the County Commissioners Court while also providing representation for the County in drug and bond forfeitures. The Family Justice Division prosecutes all cases involving child abuse, domestic violence, juvenile crime and sexual assault. We also provide legal representation to victims of domestic violence who are seeking a protective order from the court.

It is our goal to assure those victimized that they have not been left behind by the criminal justice system.
