The Hays County Veteran Services Office is eager to assist veterans and their dependents and survivors in accessing benefits they are entitled to through federal, state, local and nonprofit programs.
Please call our office for an appointment to meet with our Veteran Services Officer, drop by if you are in the neighborhood, or call or email.
We will help you determine which programs are available for you and assist with filling out necessary forms to receive those benefits. Assistance could be available through the Veterans Administration or other programs offered by government and non-profit agencies.

Currently offering transportation to the Audie Murphy VA Hospital in San Antonio Tuesdays through Thursdays. Call 512-392-8387 to schedule a ride or for details. The Veteran Services Office may also be able to assist with appointments in emergency situations, but you must call as soon as possible to schedule transportation.
Help with VA forms for benefits. Call for an appointment to see the Veteran Services Officer. Walk-ins are also welcome, but appointments are recommended for your convenience.
If you’ve been turned down for benefits, talk to us. We understand the rules under which the VA operates and how to apply those rules. Let our office help with your benefit issue.
There may be special VA benefits to assist a veteran or spouse with nursing home, assisted living, rehabilitative or in-home services.

Get a copy of your lost/misplaced DD-214 discharge papers ♦ Replace lost medals/awards ♦ Find assistance for prescription costs, education, etc. ♦ Please contact us and we will gladly assist you with these and other issues.

Benefits Offered by Hays County
The Hays County Veteran Services Office is available to assist veterans with securing the benefits to which they are entitled. For a better understanding of your benefits, or for help in filling out benefit forms, please call, email or come by our office.

Active Military Personnel: A member of the National Guard on Federal active duty, or a member of the Armed Forces of the United States on active duty, who is preparing to be deployed to serve in a hostile fire zone is exempt from paying local government fees incurred to arrange personal affairs as follows: copies of birth certificate, copies of marriage license, copies of guardianship documents and fees for issuing a marriage license or transferring title to real or personal property.
