Public Health Education

The Hays County PHD provides a health promotion program designed to educate and promote the good health of Hays County residents. Our public health educator is available to give presentations at schools, health fairs and civic group meetings.

Our goal is to educate residents on how to prevent diseases. We partner with local organizations to promote healthy living, participate in outreach immunization clinics and provide health education materials and presentations to schools and other formal and informal groups. Contact the Health Educator at 512-393-5520 to discuss your presentation needs.

We provide the opportunity for students from various schools to spend their internship/externship at the Health Department receiving practical experience in their various fields which may include educating clients in nutrition, exercise, and other health promotion topics.
