Historical Commission to Dedicate Marker

for Bunton Branch Bridge

Hays County Courthouse, San Marcos, TX – The Hays County Historical Commissioner invites the public to attend the dedication of a historical marker on Dry Hole Road/Kyle Crossing in Kyle (behind the HEB) on Saturday, May 24, at 10 a.m. The marker commemorates the Bunton Branch Bridge, which was built as part of Post Road in 1915 – two years before the formation of the original Texas Highway Department (now TxDOT). Post Road was the first federally funded highway in Texas.

County Judge Bert Cobb, M.D. and Kyle Mayor Lucy Johnson will be among the guest speakers.
