Grand Opening of the
Jacob’s Well Natural Area

Saturday, May 10, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Hays County Parks Department invites you to enjoy a day of hiking, nature activities, geocaching, birding and wildlife appreciation at the newly improved Jacob’s Well Natural Area. Hays County Master Naturalists will be providing demonstrations and guided tours of the area. Music will be provided by Sutton Brothers Band.

8:00 a.m. Early Bird Hike – Join Master Naturalists on a tour of the property to identify birds and habitats
Master Naturalist Interpretive Tours continue throughout the day
10:00 a.m. Native American Blessing at the Well – Dr. Mario Garza, Indigenous Cultures Institute
11 a.m. Guest Speakers County Judge Bert Cobb, M.D., Precinct 3 Commissioner Will Conley and Precinct 4 Commissioner Ray Whisenant
12:00-1:00 Lunch with Music provided by Sutton Brothers Band
1:00-4:00 Simultaneous tours, presentations, demonstrations, kite handout and flying, geocaching, learn to build bird feeders and paper roll binoculars, face painting, slideshow and FUN for all ages.
2:00 Research dive team presentations/Nature Center
(Enjoy your time at the Natural Area, but remember that pets, alcohol, smoking and firearms are prohibited)
