The e-Slate direct-recording electronic (DRE) voting equipment that was introduced in November 2005 has been a major success. We have used the new e-Slate equipment in every election since its introduction, and it has been overwhelmingly positively received by our voters. No computer experience is necessary to vote on the system and voters of all ages have found it very easy to use.
The system is ADA accessible with special interfaces for the physically challenged and is equipped with an audio ballot reader to help visually impaired voters. Additionally, curbside voting can be accommodated. Trained assistants will be available at each polling location to provide assistance, while printed instructions will also be readily available.
We have several demonstrations of the system available for viewing by clicking on any of the links below. I hope you will take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the system and its features.
