                         DISASTER RECOVERY INFORMATION

NEED ASSISTANCE BECAUSE OF PROPERTY DAMAGE FROM THE STORMS AND FLOODS OCTOBER 30-31 IN HAYS, BLANCO, CALDWELL OR GUADALUPE COUNTY?

 

If you need assistance because of property damage from the October storms and floods – or if you want to help those in need by volunteering – please contact one of the Volunteer Reception Centers. Volunteers at these centers can direct you to the proper authority if you have questions about debris removal, insurance, housing and other needs or if you would like to sign up to volunteer. You can go to any VRC that is convenient for you.

 

Volunteer Reception Centers

 

Buda: 500 Jack C. Hays Trail (FM 2770, Hays County Precinct 5 Office). Mondays-Saturdays 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. 512-931-1167.

San Marcos: 801 W. MLK (Dunbar Center), Mondays-Saturdays 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. 512-677-9701.

Wimberley: 200 Stillwater Drive, Mondays-Saturdays 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. 512-677-9701.

 

If you would like to help financially: The Blanco River Regional Recovery Team (BR3T) is a regional long-term recovery effort supported by Blanco, Caldwell, Guadalupe and Hays Counties and their cities to help disaster survivors recover from storms and floods that affected the region on Memorial Weekend and October 30-31, 2015. To make a financial donation: The BR3T is accepting donations online via credit card or PayPal at www.BR3T.org. Donations are accepted in person at any Wells Fargo Bank branch or by mailing a check or money order to The Blanco River Regional Recovery Team, P.O. Box 685, San Marcos, TX 78667.

Local Governments are also seeking to compile a list of damaged properties. Whether or not you need assistance, if you have damaged property please let us know for reporting purposes (this is not the same as contacting a VRC if you need assistance). Information about any damaged property in the unincorporated area of Hays County or in any city except San Marcos should be sent to floodstormdamage@co.hays.tx.us and should include

Address of damaged property and owner’s name

Type of damage

Depth of any water in building(s)

Property damage within the City of San Marcos limits should be reported to flooddamage@sanmarcostx.gov.
