Hays County Offices will be Closed Tuesday, January 16; Commissioners Court Still Scheduled

Hays County Courthouse, San Marcos, TX – Hays County officials have announced that all Hays County offices, except for those staffed by first responders, will be closed Tuesday, January 16, because of expected dangerous driving conditions. Currently, Commissioners Court is expected to be held with limited staff participation at its usual time, 9 a.m., at the Hays County Courthouse, 111 E. San Antonio St., San Marcos.

“The National Weather Service is discouraging unnecessary travel on Tuesday, and we want to ensure the safety of our employees as well as the public,” Hays County Chief of Staff Clint Garza said following a conference call Monday evening with emergency management officials.

Garza added that officials will determine Tuesday evening if it is safe to open offices on Wednesday and will monitor weather conditions closely.
