Commissioners Court Honors Judge Margie H. Hernandez with Day of Remembrance
Hays County Courthouse, San Marcos, TX – Saddened by the loss of Justice of the Peace
1-2 Margie H. Hernandez who passed away April 30, the Hays County Commissioners Court issued a proclamation Tuesday naming May 5 as a Day of Remembrance for the Judge, who had served in Justice of the Peace Court since 2003.
Judge Hernandez’s husband, Marcos, and daughter Maggie were in Court to accept the proclamation as well as a Texas flag that was flown at half-mast Monday at the Hays County Commissioners Court, where JP 1-2 is located.
“We will miss our friend and colleague, who was a dedicated public servant as well as a loving wife and mother,” County Judge Bert Cobb, M.D., said. “Her enthusiasm for helping others was an inspiration for us all.”
“Judge Hernandez was a dear friend, and our hearts go out to her family,” said Precinct 1 Commissioner Debbie Gonzales Ingalsbe. “Her absence will be felt by all of us for a long time.”
